The NCAA Football Season Continues to Show Us the Best Teams

Which of the NCAA football teams will make it to the playoffs at the end of the year? Let’s look at the top ten to see where teams rank.

Only four teams can qualify for this postseason tournament which will leave at least six of the teams from the top ten out of the tournament. Let’s take a look at the teams that are ranked in the top ten after four weeks of this season are in the books.

The Crimson Tide are Dominant in Their Effort

Before Alabama moves into the teeth of the SEC schedule, they played Southern Mississippi this past weekend and came out dominant in a 63-14 victory. This was an expected result and gave the Crimson Tide a final warmup game before they begin to play their own league and see what’s in front of them. Will this team be ranked in the top spot when the season is over? Only time will tell.

The Bulldogs Continue to Hold the Second Spot

As we move through the NCAA football season, there’s a good chance we will have a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup when it’s time for the Georgia Bulldogs to play the Alabama Crimson Tide. On the way to this game, Georgia took care of Vanderbilt in a dominant way with a 62-0 win over the Commodores.

The Ducks Were Dominant in Their Win

Continuing to prove they belong in the playoff conversation, the Oregon Ducks took care of Arizona with a 41-19 victory. This win helps to secure their position in the third spot in the top ten, where they should stay for a long time. Will we see this team make it to the playoffs at the end of the year? We will see how the rest of their season plays out to find out.

We See the Nittany Lions Holding Onto the Fourth Position

The team that just might represent the Big Ten in the playoffs could be the Nittany Lions of Penn State. They continued to build in the statement that makes them part of the conversation with a 38-17 win over Villanova this past weekend. As this team works its way into the Big Ten part of their schedule, we will see if they will be part of the NCAA football playoffs.

Another Big Ten Team Vying for the Playoffs is the Hawkeyes

The Iowa Hawkeyes currently holds the fifth spot in the top ten and could be one of the teams considered for the playoffs when the end of the season arrives. This past weekend, Iowa played Colorado State and won the game 24-14 to keep their perfect record intact. Get ready for a wild ride in the Big Ten.

The Sooners Survived and Advanced in the Sixth Spot

As the NCAA football season continues, we are expecting to see various teams move up and down the rankings. The Oklahoma Sooners barely got past the West Virginia Mountaineers this weekend with a 16-13 win on a last-second field goal. With West Virginia unranked, this win cost the Sooners two spots in the top ten to drop from fourth to sixth in these rankings.

No Game for the Bearcats Moved Them Up a Spot

Not often do you see a college team move up in the rankings during an idle week, but the Cincinnati Bearcats did just that. They moved from eighth to seventh because of losses by teams ahead of them. With Texas A&M dropping out of the top ten, the Bearcats moved up and didn’t have to prove themselves on the field to gain this ranking.

The Razorbacks Take Over the Eighth Spot

One of the biggest upsets for the NCAA football season took place this weekend when the Arkansas Razorbacks beat the Texas A&M Aggies with a score of 20-10. The Razorbacks were previously ranked 16 in the top 25 and now are 4-0 on the season. This just might show us that Arkansas football is back and that this team will be one of the strongest teams in college football and in the SEC.

The Fighting Irish Fight Their Way Back Into the Top Ten

Notre Dame dropped out of the top ten a couple of weeks ago with wins that weren’t convincing against teams they should have beaten easily. After a dominating final score over Wisconsin, Notre Dame finds itself back in the top ten at the ninth spot. The final score was 41-13, but this game was much closer than that most of the game.

The Gators Take the Last Spot in the Top Ten

For this NCAA football season, the top ten is rounded out after four weeks of games, with the Florida Gators moving into the tenth position. After nearly pulling out a huge upset against Alabama a couple of weeks ago and then a dominating win over Tennessee with a score of 38-14, the Gators have found their way back into the conversation and are tenth on the list for this week.
