Faraday Futures – Finally a Place to Work with New Aspirations

Over the past few years, there has been one company that has become a bit of a yo-yo of financial stress and impressive models that could become something special. It’s important for a car company to not only have the money to operate because it costs huge sums of money to build cars, but also have a place to allow those operations to take place. The company that has toyed with our emotions and still hasn’t been able to produce anything that we will pay close attention to is Faraday Future, which was supposed to be the direct competitor to Tesla.

Early Aspirations for Faraday

When the announcements began of the creation of Faraday Futures it seemed this brand was going to be able to capture our attention and imagination to make sure we would turn our attention away from Tesla. The first announcement was this company would be able to employ as many as 13,000 people in a one-million square foot factory that was going to be built in the Las Vegas, NC area. The future was set and the company was ready to show us how much better they could perform in the EV market.
The first car offered from this company was a super sports car that resembled a Formula One racing machine. While this wasn’t going to be the production model offered, Faraday Futures has created the FF91 which is a four-door sedan that offers impressive driving capabilities as well, but they still don’t have a place to build it. The financial woes of this company have much to do with the fact that the CEO, Chinese billionaire Jia Yueting also ran into his own version of financial woes. With the backing gone, how was this company going to come to the market with the vehicle we want to purchase?

Where We are Today

Faraday Futures has recently purchased a factory that will allow them to begin to produce the FF91. This factory is a 55-year old former Pirelli factory that’s located in Hanford, CA. This is a much smaller and obviously older facility than what the company originally thought they would have, but it’s one that provides them with the ability to begin to produce the sedan that’s been developed. Hopefully, this purchase will allow the FF91 to come to market and provide some stability for the company that is supposed to challenge Tesla.
While it seems the team at Faraday Futures has to continually overcome troubles, if they are able to build the FF91, this will be a sedan that can reach sixty mph in only 2.39 seconds and is powered by a 130 kW battery to give the car an amazing amount of power and range. The next step is for this company to start tooling and start producing, but now that there is a place to work, the FF91 appears it could become a reality in the near future and be a car that captures and holds our attention for a long time.
