Tesla is Marching Forward With Another New Model

There may be thoughts that Tesla needs to do a better job of perfecting the models they already have in production or find a way to reach the production goals it continues to set for itself, but you wouldn’t expect Elon Musk to slow down, stop, or even think about moving backward. While those who put a deposit down for the Model 3 still waiting for their orders to be filled, this company is announcing another new model that will be offered on the market in the future and will begin production in November of 2019.

The original plan for the Model 3 was to be able to provide 500,000 models per year by now, but that goal continues to be pushed back and Tesla continues to charge forward. The new model that will begin to be produced in November of 2019 will be the new Model Y. this will be a compact crossover SUV that will allow you to have the ride quality and comfort you want when you drive in an EV. We don’t know yet when this model will actually arrive on the roads to be one that can be perfect for you to have a great drive.

The Tesla Model Y and the Goals Offered

Now that the production timeframe has been confirmed it seems the goal is to have a target production of up to one million Model Y vehicles per year. This vehicle will share its platform with the Model 3 and predictions are that Tesla will likely be able to produce closer to 500,000 models of the Model Y per year to start with. This is a seriously optimistic number considering what we see with the Model 3 that hasn’t yet made it to the production numbers that were desired by now.
The most optimistic production plans for the Model Y comes as Tesla works to make its way to 5,000 cars per week by the end of the second quarter of this year. The production numbers we see now show this company is up to just over 2,000 models per week right now. It seems that Tesla is a long way from being able to reach this production number which they plan to achieve for the future of our driving desires and needs; it just seems there might be time to slow down and perfect what’s being sold right now.
With the addition of the Model Y at this point, the different models that will be offered from Tesla include the Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, Semi, and 2020 Roadster. There’s also a pickup truck that’s on the table as an idea that will be part of the market as well. The biggest hurdle for the team at Tesla will be to create the production numbers needed. Ask anyone that’s still waiting for their Model 3 and you might find that Tesla should focus on creating the production numbers needed and not new models until they learn how to be a volume company.
