Which Teams Lead the MLB Power Rankings?

As we get ready to head into the All-Star Break, we want to know which teams lead the MLB Power Rankings and the top of baseball.

This list has been an up and down journey for some teams and is a list other teams would rather forget about. Regardless of where your favorite team resides, the second half of the season will arrive soon and we will continue to see which teams have risen to the top.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are Back on Top

Even with the negative attention surrounding the ongoing sexual assault investigation of Trevor Bauer, the Dodgers have found their way back to the top of this list. They currently hold a record of 53-34 and have moved up from being in the second spot last week. As the Dodgers continue to work to defend their World Series title we should see them at or near the top of this list more often.

The Houston Astros are in Second

The runner-up position of the MLB Power Rankings belongs to the Houston Astros this week. This team moves up from fourth into this position to give us a team that many would rather wasn’t as good as they are. Their record is currently 54-33 and it seems they will likely be the team that represents the AL West at the end of the season.

Dropping to Third, we see the San Francisco Giants

The first team to fifty wins and one that continues to show its strength throughout the season is the Giants. This team was in the top spot last week but is now in the third position, still a respectable spot. The current record of 54-32 puts them on top of the NL West as we head into the All-Star Break. Expect the Giants to be standing tall at the end of the year.

Fourth Belongs to the Boston Red Sox

It seems the shortened season of last year was a fluke for the Red Sox and they now stand up strong as one of the top teams in the league. Boston moves from the fifth spot to fourth this week in the MLB Power Rankings. This team holds a record of 54-34 and should be one of the teams that make the postseason.

We See the San Diego Padres in Fifth

With a strong record of 51-38, you can see how impressive the Padres are this year. This is the third of the NL West teams out of the first five on this list. There are only so many spots in the playoffs for the MLB, but the Padres could easily grab one of those spots and be a contender when it’s time for October baseball to begin.

The Sixth Spot Belongs to the Chicago White Sox

The AL Central-leading team is in the sixth spot on the MLB Power Rankings list. The White Sox hold a record of 51-35 and have moved up from being in the eighth position only a week ago. Expect this team to find its way to the top of the American League standings as we move past the middle of the season and head down the stretch.

Seventh is Where We Find the Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays are certainly pushing to make it to the postseason again this year and just might be the team that represents the American League. This seems like an unlikely team, but they were the last ones standing last year when it was time for the World Series. The Rays hold a 51-36 record and could be on the way up this list.

The Milwaukee Brewers are in the Eighth Spot

The NL Central was not represented on this list until now. With so many teams from the West showing up at or near the top, it’s hard to break through. The Brewers currently have a record of 52-36 and move up from ninth on this list to be in this position. It will be interesting to see if they can hold onto their strong record the rest of the way.
