Round Two of the NBA Playoffs Is in Full Swing

Every series in the second round of the NBA Playoffs has made it through at least three games with all series having one team leading the way.

So far we have some interesting stories to tell and can make a few predictions about how this round might turn out.  With four matchups going right now, the time is coming closer to the championships where we will see one team crowned as the last team standing in this league.

What Can We Say About the Series Between the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Clippers?

This matchup is one of the toughest series to predict in the NBA Playoffs and it offers us a pair of teams that are pretty evenly matched. The Jazz have been tough for nearly every team in the league to beat all year long. By that same token, the Clippers bring a two-time NBA Finals MVP to the series along with a perennial All-Star.

The first two games of this series were taken by the Jazz and it seemed as though the team from Utah was going to run away and sweep the Clippers out of the playoffs. Game three gave us another story with the Clippers winning decisively. Now we wait to see what the next couple of games will offer. Will we have a “gentlemen’s sweep” or will the Clippers push this series beyond five games.

Looking at the Milwaukee Bucks taking on the Brooklyn Nets

The Brooklyn Nets bring a team to this matchup that features four All-Stars, three of whom are considered top-ten players in the league. Kevin Durant just might be the best player in the NBA right now, even though he doesn’t get the same credit as LeBron James. The Bucks have the MVP from the last two seasons, but not much more in ways of top talent on the floor.

The first two games of this series of the NBA Playoffs went in favor of the Nets with a decisive win in Game 2. After this, the Buck buckled down and began to play some tough defense. The Milwaukee team found a way to win the next two games to tie the series at two games apiece. Unfortunately, Durant may be without two of his running mates as he tries to win this second-round series.

The Phoenix Suns Finished off the Denver Nuggets

The other series in the Western Conference features the Suns and Nuggets. The Nuggets are a formidable team with the current NBA MVP on the team along with some star players that can handle any team on the floor. The Suns are led by Chris Paul and a young cast of star players that bring amazing energy to every game.

If you think Chris Paul could use a break and a bit of a rest during the NBA Playoffs, he’s about to get it. The Jazz and Clippers will go at least two more games while the Suns finished off the Jazz in a four-game sweep. This gives the Suns a break before they begin their series which has them in the Western Conference Championships with a chance to go to the NBA Finals.

The Atlanta Hawks are Giving the Philadelphia 76ers All They can Handle

For several years, the 76ers were at the bottom of the barrel and couldn’t find the NBA Playoffs with a map. After some excellent draft picks and team building, this team has been a regular fixture in the playoffs. The only thing they have left to accomplish is a Championship. Currently, the Atlanta Hawks are standing in their way.

The Hawks bring a pesky style of play to the floor that’s hard to match and even tougher to beat. Right now, the 76ers hold two games to one lead over the Hawks but this series seems to be a tossup and hard to predict. Will we see the 76ers finally get to the next step of the NBA Playoffs or will the Hawks find a way to upset a team that seems to be destined for the Finals.

Which Team do We Expect to Move On?

With the Suns already secured as one of the four teams that will be part of the Conference Championships of the NBA Playoffs, there are only three other series to predict. With the Jazz leading right now, we can predict that Utah will be part of the next round. The Bucks will likely win their series, more due to injuries to the Nets than anything else. The 76ers will be the final of the four teams because they will dispatch the Hawks in six games.
