Lebanon Prime Minister Tammam Salam may resign over garbage

Running a country is challenging regardless of how big or small the problems are. In the case of Lebanon, the problem seemed to be insignificant at first, but when the people are forced to be surrounded by garbage when the government fails to find a place to put it all, there’s a good chance that the little problem will escalate quickly. It did and now several people are in the hospital while the Prime Minister is considering resigning.

The “Great Lebanese Trash Protest of 2015” isn’t the type of problem one expects in the Middle East. With war, ISIS, nuclear weapons, and climate issues, trash should be on the backburner. Apparently, the Lebanese government nor its people got the memo.

The protests have turned violent and rioters have been burning more than just their trash when the sun goes down.

Here’s a video of the carnage. If they can’t get the trash collected, there’s another way for them to dispose of it. As you can see, this probably really stinks.

This goes to show that small problems can be made into heaping piles of trash when they’re not dealt with in a timely and proper manner.
