What To Know About the Jeep Wrangler Retro Dispatcher Concept

The Easter Jeep Safari of 2024 delivers once again with a cool retro concept Jeep on the 4xe powertrain. Called the 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Dispatcher, the rig features classic tires and design elements, while using the fully modern 4xe platform. It celebrates the nostalgia of service members returning from the war with their Jeeps.

Built on the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe

The Dispatcher starts with a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe platform, which includes the 2.0-liter four-cylinder plug-in hybrid powertrain. It’s then covered in Element 115 Green paint, which has a slight blueish tinge and reminds one of a retro color. The wheels and tires are 36-inch pizza-cutter style with cream-colored steel rims.

Added to this setup is a Jeep Performance Parts suspension kit with Bilstein dampers, plus Dana 50 axles. Both ensure that this Jeep is ready to roll over rough terrain. The Willys moniker is stamped on both sides of the hood in body-color letters as an homage to the flat-fender Jeeps from the war.

On the front of the Dispatcher is a modern Warn winch with a classic look. It’s mounted on a stubby bumper and uses synthetic rope. Instead of the Trail Rated badge, the Dispatcher features a retro-style badge showing how the Jeep grille has evolved from the original wartime Jeep to the modern one.

Interior Design Elements Pop

Moving onto the interior, the Dispatcher concept features a strong retro theme with low back seats sans headrests. The seats themselves are quite modern and comfortable, however. The upholstery is brown with houndstooth cloth and saddle leather trim. Vinyl floor mats make it easy to clean up post-trail. The dash is also trimmed with houndstooth details.

There are also several practical functions built into the Dispatcher, including a Jeep Performance Parts air compressor for airing up your tires on the way back to civilization. The compressor is mounted within the tailgate.

Practical Jeep concepts wouldn’t be complete without fun extras like a bottle opener next to the spare tire. Emblazoned with a Jeep badge beneath it, the sturdy metal contraption is the perfect way to celebrate post-trail at the campsite.

2024 Easter Jeep Safari Highlights

Once again, the always-fun Easter Jeep Safari was a success. Alongside the Dispatcher concept, we were treated to the Retro Gladiator, the Vacationeer, and a Low-Boy V8 Wrangler. The Low-Boy V8 Wrangler was an interesting take on the sky-high Jeep concept. Despite being at a stock ride height, this Wrangler was fitted with 42-inch tires. Some interesting clearance work was done to get them to fit, including Dana 60 axles with 5.38:1 gears.

Also on tap was a Gladiator concept from Jeep Performance Parts outfitted with retro graphics and a fancy Ginger Snap metallic paint job. It also adds a set of larger tires, a modified front bumper, and a set of Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears.

Finally, the Grand Wagoneer Vacationeer is an overlanding throwback outfitted in a Spearmint paint job and woodgrain stripe. It also adds some off-road upgrades like the other concepts.
