Which MLB Teams are Leading the Way in the Power Rankings?

Eight weeks of play have passed during this MLB season to give us a look at which MLB teams are at the top and bottom of the power rankings.

We’re coming closer to that magic time when we look at how these teams are truly shaping up and which ones will lead the conversation for baseball the rest of the way. Let’s check out the Week 8 Power Rankings.

The San Diego Padres Sit at the Top

One of the most fun teams to watch play the game is finally at the top of the list. The Padres bring a youthful energy to a game that we’ve all played when we were kids. Their record of 32-18 shows strength in the game and a team that could be standing tall at the end of the season.

Moving Up One Spot We See the Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers were once the top of the MLB teams on this list but have been up and down the ranking for a few weeks now. This team moves up from the third to the second spotto show they are moving toward where they want to be again. With a record of 30-19,this team is poised to make a big push for the postseason.

The Tampa Bay Rays Make a Huge Jump to Third

Last week, the Rays were in the tenth spot, and this weekthey make the leap to third in the power rankings. This team may have started slowly but they have caught fire and are on their way uptowhere they want to go. The Rays currently have a record of 31-20 and look to be one of the toughest teams to beat this year.

Falling from First to Fourth We Have the Chicago White Sox,

Last week the White Sox were on top of the world but after a tough week that included getting beat badly by the New York Yankees, this team finds itself in the fourth spot. Therecord of 28-20 is a good one and the White Sox might find themselves at the top of the power rankings again before the end of the season.

In the Fifth Spot, We See the Boston Red Sox

With a record of 30-20, the Red Sox are one of the MLB teams that are proving hard to beat this year. This team has its manager back and looks to be tough to win against all year long. The Red Sox did fall from fourth to fifth this week but they could be a legitimate contender when we get later in the season.

We Find the New York Yankees in the Sixth Position

Moving up from the eighth position on this list, the New York Yankees are in the sixth spot with a record of 28-20. This team had a seriously rough start to the season and already has a few nagging injuries that seem to plague them every year. That being said, three teams are in the top six from the AL East, which tells you this division could be the toughest one this year.

The San Francisco Giants are Seventh on the List

Among the MLB teams at the top of the power rankings, we see the Giants have fallen from fifth to seventh this week. They hold an excellent 30-19 record and will likely move up the rankings once again. This is the third team in the top seven from the NL West, which gives us a look at yet another tough division.

The Houston Astros Find Themselves in the Eighth Spot

With a record of 27-22, the Astros are in the eighthposition on this list after being in the sixth position only a week ago. Will this team be the AL West representative in the postseason? Regardless of where they go, the Astros are being booed and have become the most hated team in the league, and rightfully so. With this team in the mix, we have a bit of drama brewing.
