You Can’t Binge-Watch These Netflix Shows Any Longer
We have loved Netflix shows for several years. This platform created the binge-watch feeling we love with excellent entertainment options.
Many of the shows have been huge hits, but some didn’t quite hit the mark where they should have. Whether you’re looking for the next season of a show you love or you were glad to see one go, there are some that have been canceled by Netflix.
Hoops is Gone from the Platform
The animated adult world of entertainment has been very lucrative since the Simpsons began. It seems that any show that was raw, rude, and a bit obscure would have a ready audience that would want to see it. Hoops is one of the Netflix shows that is being canceled and will no longer be offered. Is it possible that basketball isn’t funny in an adult animated setting? Maybe.
We’re Done with The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
Whether you’re a fan of the original fantasy film from 1982 or you found this show during one of your binge-watch sessions, you won’t see The Dark Crystal as part of the Netflix offering in the future. This show gave you the imagery that was similar to the original movie and acted as a prequel to the story, but it seemed to miss the mark.
Teenage Bounty Hunters Was a Bit Too Much
Can you imagine two teenage girls who team up to hunt down criminals? While this story is a bit farfetched, it did offer a bit of a fun way to follow these twin teens along on their adventures. If you were looking forward to another season, you’ll be disappointed. The plug has been pulled and it doesn’t seem likely to return anytime soon.
Netflix Cancelled White Lines
Another of the Netflix shows you won’t see any longer is White Lines. This show was about a brother who worked as a DJ in Ibiza after going missing for 20 years. His sister goes to find him and he turns up dead. The setting is a beautiful island and seemed to be a fitting distraction during the pandemic, but it was canceled after only three months on Netflix.
A Surprise Cancellation: The Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj
It’s not often that we see shows that won awards being canceled. The Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj won an Emmy and a Peabody Award. It was on for six seasons, but after that time, Netflix has decided it’s time to shut it down. This was a good talk show set in comedy form that was made to tackle some of the tougher issues of the day.
October Faction will be No More
Do you love stories about families with supernatural powers that hunt down monsters? If so, October Faction was the show for you, but alas, it is another on the list of Netflix shows that will be canceled. This show didn’t gain the following expected by the platform. This made it an easy choice for cancellation and it won’t be part of the mix when you look at Netflix later this year.
AJ and the Queen is Done
How can a story about a traveling drag queen and a ten-year-old that stows away in the camper not make it to another season? Well, AJ and the Queen is being canceled and won’t be on the list of Netflix shows you can watch. Even though RuPaul was his normal star self with tons of charm and charisma, this show will no longer be offered after its initial ten-episode run.
The Plug is Pulled on Altered Carbon
Based on a novel that has the same name, this show made it through two seasons and 18 episodes before the Netflix executives decided it was time to get rid of this show. The series took place in a world where consciousness can be transferred and the main character has to solve a murder. It’s a bit of a confusing story and it probably wasn’t for you, considering the low viewership of the show.
Away was Just Too Expensive
As with anything, it’s necessary for Netflix shows to make money for the platform. Away cost Netflix $6 million per episode to make. This show was a space drama starring Hillary Swank and it won’t be coming back. The cost associated with this show meant that Netflix wasn’t going to give enough time to this show to see if it would build a following after the pandemic.
