Are You Ready for the Fun of March Madness?
The brackets are set and we know the teams that are competing in the NCAA March Madness Tournament for 2021.
This tournament was canceled last year when the pandemic of COVID-19 hit hard in the United States. After a season with many teams facing delays, a few teams ending their seasons early, and very few fans in the stands, we are finally at the beginning of this beloved tournament.
Will Any of the Regions Go Chalk?
“Going Chalk” is a term used to signify that the higher-seeded team wins every game. If an entire region is to go chalk in this tournament, we should see one of the four number one teams to find their way to the semifinals and then on to the final game for the championship game. While it’s not likely that all four regions will be full of chalk, but we should see Gonzaga, Michigan, Illinois, or Baylor make it to the final four.
Tough March Madness Games in the South Region
The toughest region, based on the teams that have been placed in it, is the South Region. This is where we see some of the teams that have been the toughest all year. This list includes Ohio State, Florida, Purdue, Villanova, and North Carolina, which will all be trying to send Baylor back to Texas with their proverbial tails between their legs.
Can We Expect a Cinderella Team to Go Far?
When a team is called a Cinderella, that is a team that is one of the expected first teams out of the tournament based on seeding. A pair of these teams include Winthrop and North Texas which are poised to make some noise, although set to face much higher-seeded teams. Will you be looking for some of the Cinderella teams to make a strong push and head toward some future games.
Amazing Games to Watch to Begin March Madness
If you don’t have a favorite team in the tournament, you’ll want to see some of the games that are made to give you the entertainment and a close matchup that could result in a great game. There are a few matchups that will make this list for you right from the start.
Colorado Vs. Georgetown
The Colorado Buffaloes earned a number 5 seed in the East Region while the Georgetown Hoyas received a number 12 seeding. The Hoyas, coached by legendary player Patrick Ewing, won four games in four days to win the automatic bid from the Big East Tournament. The Buffaloes won six of seven games before being upset in the finals of the PAC-12 tournament by Oregon State which gave Colorado a strong position in the tournament.
Oklahoma State Vs. Liberty
Looking to the Midwest Region, you’ll see number 4 Oklahoma State taking on a tough number 13 seed in Liberty. The Flames of Liberty brings in a strong three-point shooting team that can also defend better than most. Even so, Oklahoma State brings the potential NBA top draft pick to the game in Cade Cunningham. This could lead to an amazing matchup and give you a great game to watch.
Florida Vs. Virginia Tech
The South Region features an interesting matchup with these two teams. Florida comes in as a number 7 seed with Virginia Tech coming in as a number 10. This game could be a huge part of your bracket, if you’re filling one out, with a matchup that seems pretty even. Whichever team comes out of this game will face the number 2 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes, which could be vulnerable after losing five of their last eight games.
Colgate Vs. Arkansas
Another great March Madness game to see is the game between Colgate and Arkansas. Colgate comes in as a number 14 with Arkansas being a number 3 seed. The Colgate Raiders are hungry for a victory and could give you the game you want to see. If history has anything to say about it, you should pick at least one number 14 see and Colgate just might be the right one for you to select.
Wisconsin Vs. North Carolina
TheSouth Region of the March Madness tournament features an 8/9 matchup between Wisconsin and North Carolina. The Badgers have the slightly better seed, but you can easily expect this game to be a huge one and give you the amazing play you want to enjoy. This is a must-see game if you’ve ever seen one. You can bet fans from the Big 10 and the ACC will be watching this game to see which conference has bragging rights.
