Things that Should Be On Your Fall Bucket List?
Soon it will be cool enough to enjoy the great outdoors. With that in mind, what outside activities do you have planned this Fall?
No matter where you live, there are plenty of things that you and your family can enjoy doing together, and some of them are totally free! So get outdoors, get active, and enjoy the cooler weather –before winter settles in! Here are some ideas to get you started.
Apple Picking
Plan a pleasant morning of apple picking at a local orchard, and if you have kids, let them loose and have them pick as many as they can. Most orchards also offer various other activities for kids, and they sometimes have live music events. They may serve warm apple cider on the premises, and there’s nothing better on a cool but sunny autumn day! Then go home and make some apple pies already!
Corn Maze and Hayride
Get lost in a corn maze this fall then take a fun hayride in the woods. Usually, farms and pumpkin patches offer all these activities on the same property. Sometimes they may even have farm animals for kids to meet! This is an enjoyable and easy way to get outside and enjoy the crisp weather.
Attend a Fall Festival
There are numerous fall festivals of all kinds going on this time of year, so do some research and see what’s going on in your area. It could be anything from food festivals and cultural events to bluegrass.
Camping Trip
Fall is the perfect weather for a camping trip –as long as it’s not raining of course! Days are sunny but not too cold, perfect for hiking, nature watching, and gathering firewood for the campfire. Then as evening approaches it’s time to cook dinner, the light that campfire then sits around telling stories and roasting marshmallows.
Day Trips
Plan a day trip to a cute little town that you’ve never been to, pack a picnic, or find a locally owned restaurant for some homemade cooking. Or go to the zoo for the day, a football game, or just walk around your local downtown and do some window shopping.
Backyard Day Out
Plan a day out in your own backyard, set up some fun outdoor games like a beanbag toss or bocce ball, invite the neighbors over, put up a canopy tent and serve some tasty food and drinks. If you have a fire pit, gather some wood and sit around the fire while sipping hot drinks, and looking up at the stars!
Whatever you have planned, stay safe, have fun, and enjoy!
