CBD Laced La Croix-esque Sparkling Water Hits the Stores in NYC

The latest craze in CBD laced products has hit the stores in New York City, causing a buzz among La Croix-swilling fans. The non-intoxicating marijuana extract, Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, has been added to all kinds of products, from gummies, chocolate, and coffee, to dog treats, skincare and bath bombs. With claims that it alleviates chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression and insomnia, it’s trendy among anxious millennials looking for more natural stress relief and among older generations who want to cut down on pain meds.

And now they’re putting it in the water.

Time for Recess

The La Croix-like sparkling water drink, Recess, was launched in October 2018. There are similar drinks on the market, some containing THC (the stuff that gets you high!) But Recesspacks a double health boost as it’s infused with CBD and adaptogens (herbs that help your body adapt to dress, such as Ginseng).

Based in New York City and made in the Hudson Valley, Recess claims their drinks will help you find ‘balance and clarity’ and stay ‘calm, cool and collected throughout the day. Each colorful, low calorie can has 10 milligrams of CBD hemp extract and comes in three flavors: Blackberry Chai, Peach Ginger, and Pomegranate Hibiscus. The company promises you’ll be left feeling “not tired, not wired” after one of these tasty elixirs. And people are loving it! Not only do they find it delicious, some claim it helps them stay focused and that it really does have a calming effect.

More CBD Products on The Way

There are many CBD-infused drinks on the market, including various other sparkling water brands, and the list will only grow this year. From craft beers to sodas, there’ll be a soothing, stress-busting beverage for all tastes.

With the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill Act, it is now legal to manufacture and distribute CBD anywhere in the United States, and it’s all set to become mainstream. With this boost the CBD laced product business is touted as the new gold rush, and for good reason -predictions show that the CBD market will hit $22 billion by 2022. Recreational marijuana is now legal in 10 states and New York may be added to that list in 2019 as governor Andrew Cuomo seeks legalization in the state. The first Cannabis Drinks Expo will be held in San Francisco in July 2019.
