Volvo XC60 – Exactly What You Expect from Volvo

Volvo XC60 - Exactly What You Expect from Volvo

Did you know that French people live in France? Are you aware that New York is known as The Big Apple? Are you expecting the sun to rise tomorrow and the tides to follow the moon? If so, you won’t be a bit surprised by the safety offered in the vehicles that come from a brand like the Volvo XC60 that continues to impress us with the long list of advanced safety equipment that we’ll love on the road. Even as other brands work to catch up and offer the safety qualities we want to enjoy on the road, it’s nice to know that some things don’t change.

When it comes to the safety of a vehicle you expect one particular brand to be able to outperform all others and show up with the qualities and features you want to enjoy out on the road. This brand is Volvo, which is the brand that has created a reputation for the most advanced safety on the market over the past few decades. While this is exactly what we expect to experience when we choose Volvo as the brand we want to drive it’s nice to know the brand still has the ability to receive the top ratings on the market.

The Volvo XC60 Safety Rating

Most recently, the model that was able to receive the highest award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) was the new 2018 Volvo XC60. This impressive midsize SUV is one that has earned the Top Safety Pick+ award with its Advanced package that has every improvement needed including headlights. The headlights typically are the one place that other models are unable to score high on the safety tests, but Volvo has found a way to make it possible to have the top score which you would expect from this brand.

Looking at the testing that IIHS puts vehicles through, the XC60 was able to earn a superior rating for the front crash prevention system that’s part of the equipment for this impressive SUV. In order to earn this Top Safety Pick+ award, a car has to receive at least a good rating in all five crashworthiness tests. These tests are the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests. These vehicles also have to earn a score of advanced or superior ratings for crash prevention and have at least an acceptable rating for headlights, which is easy for the XC60.

While this impressive SUV is one that has been tested with the Advanced package it hasn’t been tested without this package included in the vehicle. For now, we know the Volvo XC60 is a model that is safe to drive and is able to offer you the qualities you want to know your family to remain safe on the road when you drive. Take a look at this vehicle when you’re looking for a new SUV to drive and allow the shock to wash over you that a Volvo model is one of the safest vehicles to drive on the market today.
