Racing – Are You Starting a Race Team? What Car is Right?

If you’re looking for a great way to create a car that can take the track and have a lot of fun when you want to go racing, there is an engine that you’ll be able to choose to power the model you want to drive. Honda has announced it will allow the engine for the Civic Type R to be ordered as a crate model, but this engine isn’t one that will be offered to everyone that wants to build a car in their garage; it’s an engine that’s made for racing.
The Honda K20C1 engine will be offered to US professional racers and grassroots brands that have passed the verification they will install this engine into a car that will race in closed course racing. This means you need to prove you’ll only use this engine for the car you put on the track during sanctioned racing events but if you’ve thought of starting a racing team, this certainly can be the right engine for you to get the car going to make sure you have the power you want for the fun. As one of the most admired power plants used on the hot hatch part of the market, this is the engine you’ve been looking for.

What’s In the Crate? Are You Racing Ready?

When you have passed the verification process and have been given permission to order this engine, the crate will have what you need to power your car. You’ll receive the turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 306 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque for the power and performance, you want to enjoy. This crate is offered through the Honda Performance Development motorsports team and will cost you $6,519 to have this impressive engine for the fun and excitement you’re looking for.
We will get to see the entire crate engine on display at the SEMA show that starts soon, but that’s not all Honda plans to bring to their booth for this year. You’ll also see a lineup of new racecars that will be on display for us to enjoy what Honda continues to offer. The US Formula 3 car will make an appearance which uses a 260 horsepower version of the same engine. We’ll also see the US F4 car that has a version of the engine that doesn’t make use of turbocharging along with a concept 250cc shifter kart, the Global Rallycross Civic, the Pirelli World Challenge Civic Si, and the Baja Honda Ridgeline off-road race truck.
The Honda booth can be the place you want to spend some time if you’re going to attend the SEMA show later this week. This booth will be full of racing machines and this impressive engine to let you experience what Honda has to offer and what makes it one of the most impressive brands on the market. Even if you’re not at the show, I’m sure we’ll be covering some of the results and vehicles that are going to be present once the show is over.
