1. Spring Town Point Virginia Wine Festival
Happening May 5thand 6thof 2018, in the Town Point Park, ticket holders can sample over two hundred different wines, snack on delicacies, and do a little shopping in the fresh air. There are both general admission and tasting tickets available depending upon your level of interest in the local fare. For $45, you’ll be able to sample everything the wineries have to offer.
2. Virginia Beer Festival in Norfolk
If wine sampling isn’t your bag, then the beer festival is where it’s at. On May 19th, the 17thannual Virginia Beer Festival is happening in Town Point Park. Check out local food and music as you sample beers and ciders from Virginia and other locales. Play some games or simply enjoy the beautiful waterfront, but get the $40, cash only ticket at the door so you can see what the locals have to offer.
3. Norfolk Harborfest
For many Norfolk travelers, the promise of maritime fun is what attracts them to the area, and there is nothing more maritime packed than the 42ndAnnual Norfolk Harborfest. From June 8-10, boat races, parades, and incredible food bring people aplenty to the Town Point Park. It’s the largest and longest-running maritime festival in the country and it’s absolutely free! Pay no admission, but make sure to make it back for the fireworks display on Saturday night!
4. Bayou Boogaloo Music and Cajun Food Festival
Laissez le bon temps rouler at the Virginian celebration of the Cajun culture. Enjoy some of the best Louisiana has to offer without having to deal with the oppressive humidity of the deep south. Snack on Cajun foods and jam to some incredible music over this three-day festival happening June 22-24 in Town Point Park. Some of the events are free and some require tickets, but a mere $30 will get you a handy weekend pass and the ability to sample some crawfish like they’re meant to be eaten.
There’s always a ton of stuff going on for families and singles in the beautiful waterfront town of Norfolk, Virginia, but the festival season offers a bit more fun if you want to get something done!
