Most Anticipated Premiers of the Fall TV Season
Each year, TV shows take a hiatus at the end of the spring before the summer begins because TV people are realists and they understand that people are less likely to be watching television when the weather gets nice. In the early fall, after the kids return to school, they start to hype the upcoming shows with small teaser trailers. These teasers work to get everyone involved in their favorite shows, thus increasing viewership during the pilot and premiere season.
During the fall, typically, major television series begin their maiden voyage in something called the pilot season. This is when new shows get their shot at becoming popular enough to remain on the air. Every major television show must go through this process in order to be renewed for the full season. Sometimes, these pilots are shown to small audiences before the season begins and during this time are either considered successful enough for premier, they’re reworked with different actors or plotlines, or they’re scrapped completely. Only the pilots that have enough gusto to move on are actually seen by television audiences.
However, during the beginning of the fall tv season, many of the popular shows are preparing to show the audiences who love them what happened after last season’s cliffhanger ending. Here is a list of the most highly anticipated shows of the fall season.
