So many of us sit around thinking the world needs a convertible SUV to have a complete lineup of vehicles, and now it’s a reality, again. Most likely none of us actually thing that and hopefully this new convertible SUV will be much better than the somewhat failed Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet that finally stopped being pushed in our faces after the 2014 model year. Whether this new one will be better or not is yet to be determined, but the new single competitor on the market for convertible SUVs is the new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque with a ragtop roof.
This new Range Rover Evoque Convertible will be unleashed on us in the middle of 2016 and will be a vehicle that will certainly call for quizzical looks just as much as it will require us to think we should be able to understand what the vehicle is built for. Because it’s a Range Rover it might immediately have a much better reception than the Murano ever had, but there is still something odd about a convertible top on an SUV even if it has the name of Range Rover on it.
What’s cool about this SUV is that it will be offered as a two door coupe style crossover SUV that will have a fully powered canvas top. This top opens in eighteen seconds and closes in twenty-one. This action can be completed at speeds up to 30 mph as the top tucks away in a Z-shape under a cover that is hidden below the beltline level of the SUV. In order to achieve this effect a great deal of changes had to be made to the Evoque to be the right vehicle for this new and risky venture by the name that has been the height of off roading fun for years.
With the full complement of great features that you expect from a Range Rover model this Evoque is one that will be great for taking to the beach, out on the trails on days when the sun is shining and for the awesome top down fun that a convertible can give you. While most convertibles are not going to make it out on the trails of the world this one certainly gives you the chance to enjoy a fantastic four-wheel drive experience from the top name in SUVs that will give you everything you want.
Of course the Range Rover Evoque Convertible is not going to come at a cheap price, but at the starting price of $50,475 this SUV is reasonable for everything you will get on this awesome new top down SUV. We will see if this will be a huge success or become the next worst idea, but normally Range Rover doesn’t have the problem of giving us what we don’t want so expect this to be one awesome SUV to drive and ride in. If you want to enjoy the wind in your hair feeling of a convertible out on the trails that take you off the paved roads, this will be the way to go as the only convertible SUV in the luxury market starting in the middle of 2016.
