65% of illegal immigrants in Sweden have disappeared

Swedish Immigration

When Democrats are asked for examples of how border control and illegal immigration should be handled in the United States, they often point to Sweden as a model of efficiency. Under new scrutiny, it would appear that the standard-bearer for liberal immigration doctrines has been weighed in the balance and found wanting.

Of the 21,748 people who were given deportation orders last month, 14,140 have gone missing. The Swedish government has no idea where they’ve gone. Perhaps they went into hiding. Perhaps they’ve switched identities. Perhaps they decided to deport themselves on their own dime rather than waiting for the government to pay for it. As reported by The Local, they have likely all gone underground to avoid deportation.

“We simply don’t know where they are,” Patrik Engström, head of the national border police, told the newspaper.

Democratic Presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders have pointed to how Sweden handles their illegal immigration problem, which is much smaller than the problem in the United States, as the proper methodology that we should employ. They’ve even said that the measures that President Barack Obama has implemented or attempted to implement have been too harsh against illegal immigrants.

It’s well known that the appeal to the Democrats for supporting illegal immigration is to appeal to current and future minority voters, but their prime example of how to handle the problem is showing distinct signs of weakness.
