Thomas Sowell looks to Constitution as fatality of Supreme Court decisions
It isn’t about whether or not one believes in marriage economy or medical socialism. The politics behind the issues are irrelevant as they apply to the legal system. They’re issues for the legislative branch of the government rather than the judicial branch according to Thomas Sowell.
The conservative thinker is calling the decisions by the Supreme Court an abomination that tramples on the United States Constitution. It’s not their call to legislate from the bench which is exactly what they’re doing in Sowell’s eyes.
Here’s what he had to say on the Battlecreek Enquirer:
When any branch of government can exercise powers not authorized by either statutes or the Constitution, “we the people” are no longer free citizens but subjects, and our “public servants” are really our public masters. And America is no longer America. The freedom for which whole generations of Americans have fought and died is gradually but increasingly being taken away from us with smooth and slippery words.
