Roads expected to be busier than normal this Memorial Day weekend
When it comes to pre-summer travel, Memorial Day weekend is always one of the busiest, particularly for land travel. It’s not a long enough break for a full-fledged vacation, but many people will go to camp grounds, local relatives, parks, and other destinations associated with the long weekend.
This year, travel experts are telling us that the roads may be more packed than usual. In Arizona, for example, they expect a 5% increase over last year’s holiday weekend.
According to AZ Central:
“We’re anticipating an increase across the board,” AAA spokeswoman Michelle Donati said. “That’s not only on-the-road traffic, but in air travelers as well. That increase is also projected nationwide.”
