Take 2: YouTube getting back into live-streaming video
If you can’t join them, beat them. That’s not how the saying goes and it’s not exactly what YouTube is trying to do, but it’s close enough.
The video giant attempted to buy Twitch last year but never came to terms. Now, they’re taking another shot at the live-streaming world with a focus on the growing realms of gaming and eSports to propel their platform even further into our daily use.
As if we needed more reasons to go to YouTube.
According to The Daily Dot:
“Gaming and esports in particular are going to be a big driving force for the new-look YouTube Live,” one source said. “There’ll be huge opportunities for established streamers and organizations soon and I would say that the record numbers of esports viewers are only going to grow when Google start promoting and partnering with these events.”
