HTC is announcing its next flagship at MWC 2015 in March
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona has traditionally been on the most popular events of the year for smartphone manufacturers across the globe to unveil their latest products, particularly their flagship smartphones. That’s why we were so excited to hear that HTC will has started sending out invites to join them at the trade show in March for a big announcement, which most people assume will be the successor to the HTC One (M8).
As for the invites, little is shown aside from the text “utopia in progress” which is displayed over a cosmic background. While HTC didn’t attend the MWC last year, the company still launched the HTC One (M8) in March, not too long after the trade show, which is why everyone is assuming that this year’s March event will be for the flagship smartphone’s successor.
There have been numerous rumors about the HTC One (M9), which is the unofficial name for HTC’s next flagship smartphone, over the last few months, all of which suggest that the device’s specs will be just as impressive as its predecessor. Going by the tentative name of Hima, the Taiwanese company’s latest flagship is expected to come equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 810 CPU, an Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM, a 1440×2560 QHD display, a 20.7 megapixel rear-facing camera, a 13 megapixel front-facing camera, and a rather lackluster 2840mAh battery.
