Expectations Run High for the 2015 Cadillac XTS

As the flagship vehicle from Cadillac, the XTS is what the world has come to expect and enjoy from this long standing luxury car maker. The XTS offers executive level comfort and posh style to carry along the social and business elite and offer ways for them to impress potential clients and passengers with its exquisite styling and awesome ride performance. Competing in a class with the Lexus GS, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series the XTS offers leading technology and razor sharp style that has been found in Cadillac models for many generations.

With sophistication and advanced technology the XTS offers a great pairing of aggressive performance and a comfortable ride for the high end shoppers to fully appreciate and enjoy. For 2015 the XTS adds the new GM 4G LTE which turns the car into a rolling Wi-Fi hotspot. In addition to this great feature, the XTS adds a revised rear-seat armrest that adds the controls for the sunshade and radio power adjustable 22-way front seats with massage features, power folding mirrors and lane keep assistance. If the XTS wasn’t already a very pleasurable ride, it certainly moves past that category with the addition of all these great features.

As one of the most recognizable luxury cars on the road today, the XTS offers one of the softest and most comfortable rides on the road. This is created from the inclusion of standard Magnetic Ride Control and a suspension system that continually adapts to the different road conditions to offer the smoothest ride possible. Add to this ride the very dynamic and highly responsive steering system which helps the car and its ability to maneuver through any curves or turns with ease and grace that can only be found on a Cadillac of this caliber.

Two engines are available to choose from for the XTS. The base engine shows up as a 3.6-liter direct-injected V6 which offers 305 horsepower and 264 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission which allows it to have 18 city/28 hwy mpg for the front-wheel drive version and 17 city/26 hwy mpg for the all-wheel drive models. The AWD system for the XTS uses Haldex technology and a limited slip differential to help transfer the power front to back and side to side wherever it is needed to make the car perform at its peak.

The second and more powerful engine, according to Sacramento Cadillac, that can be had for the XTS shows up as a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. This engine offers 410 horsepower and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. Using the same six-speed automatic transmission this powertrain achieved a fuel efficiency of 16 city/24 hwy mpg but this engine can only be operated using premium gas while the smaller engine can utilize regular gasoline. This powertrain is also only available in AWD form, which is not a negative feature since the AWD offers so much additional control and comfort to be experienced.

As one of the longest running luxury car manufacturers on the road Cadillac has perfected the interior of its entire lineup and the XTS is no exception to this statement. The interior of this car offers a rich cabin loaded with comfortable and soft materials covering every surface of the vehicle. With great leg room in the rear seat and 18-cubic feet of trunk space this car is a very capable hauler for people and cargo. The control features of the XTS are all upscale and graciously intuitive for any driver to fully enjoy and appreciate.

On the outside the XTS is dynamic and gorgeous. This car is unmistakable with the Cadillac emblem adorning the front grill of the car which only begins the outstanding appearance of this great car. The hood is long and swept and there are a ton of chrome accents all over the car for anyone to enjoy the appearance or the drive. With headlights that are trapezoidal in shape and dynamically swept back toward the rear to give the eye a movement across the car from the front to the rea. The final touch of luxury on this car comes in the form of the heavily spoked wheels that are situated underneath this vehicle for additional appearance enjoyment.

Even the base model of the XTS offers a great deal of luxurious standard features for anyone to fully enjoy. This list includes dual-zone automatic climate control, a power adjustable steering wheel, rear parking assistance, an eight-speaker Bose sound system with CD and HD Radio, Bluetooth streaming and USB inputs. Moving up to the trim levels adds some additional great features such as a rearview camera, heated and ventilated front seats, rain sensing windshield wipers, a 12.3-inch driver information display and the Driver Awareness Package. The safety features aboard any of the XTS models includes ten airbags, the GM OnStar communication service with automatic crash response, Brembo performance brakes and complimentary maintenance for four year or 50,000 miles.

The Cadillac XTS shows up with a great deal of optional features to be enjoyed as well. This list includes all-wheel drive, a navigation system, a 14-speaker Bose Studio Surround Sound audio system, a dual-screen rear seat DVD entertainment system, a sunroof, the parking assistance feature which allows the car to parallel park itself, adaptive cruise control and automatic braking in both forward and reverse when a collision is sensed.

The Cadillac XTS shows up at a great price to start with by not including a bunch of features that won’t be used much like massaging seats. This pricing starts out at $45,500 for the base price and moves up to over $70,000 for the top of the line model when it’s fully loaded with all the bells and whistles. As the flagship Cadillac sedan, the XTS shows off with all the comfort and features that anyone could desire from this outstanding and longstanding luxury car producer.
