Samsung decides to go it alone against Apple and IBM partnership
When battling a partnership of two of the biggest technology companies in the world, Apple and IBM, it’s best to team up with another company to help even the odds. Samsung doesn’t seem to want help, however, as the South Korean company has decided to take on the two tech giants by itself with a new services venture called Samsung 360 Services for Business.
Samsung unveiled the Samsung 360 Services for Business yesterday, which allows for support of enterprise customers using smartphones, printers, and any other related Samsung business products. This move is bold to say the least, and follows closely behind the partnership between Apple and IBM that was announced in July in which both companies would work together to sell Apple products to business oriented customers.
Robin Bienfait, chief enterprise innovation officer for Samsung Electronics said that businesses are “looking for somebody who can come to the table and bring expertise in different areas and be that one partner they can work with” and not just “one partner that’s just going to come in there and say, ‘hey, for this to work, you need all of my stuff.”
The South Korean company is deploying 10,000 employees to help with the new service rollout by pushing new devices, integrating systems, helping companies with new software, and dealing with the problems that arise with something of this scale. Only time will tell is Samsung’s endeavor will be successful, but if anyone could take on Apple and IBM, it’s probably them.
