Man spends £1,000 trying to win free food for life, didn’t know the competition was already over
Nando’s, a popular restaurant that operates in thirty countries in the Anglosphere and the Middle East, ran a promotion over two years ago offering a black card to anyone who could prove they had eaten at every one of the firm’s 1,031 stores around the world.
The coveted Nando’s black card guarantees free meals for life to anyone who possesses one. Once a young Nando’s lover named Christopher Poole heard about the challenge and the opportunity to win free Nando’s for life, he set out to complete it.
It wasn’t until Mr. Poole finished visiting 85 branches in the United Kingdom that he discovered the competition was over. Fortunately for Mr. Poole, the restaurant chain has agreed to honor the old promotion if he can complete the global challenge.
Mr. Poole has already spent over £1,000 ($1,655) and gained over 14 pounds for the challenge but claims that he’s heading straight for Australia, home to over 300 branches, once he’s done with the United Kingdom.
He has even come up with his own “Nando’s pose” and has already received about a dozen “Nan-dates” from people wanting Mr. Poole to join them for food in their local Nando’s.
