Rubio keeps picking up endorsements but will it matter?

Marco Rubio was once considered the best chance the Republican Establishment had of beating Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. That’s still the case (sorry John Kasich) but even as their best hope, his chances are approaching zero. That’s not stopping establishment types from throwing their name behind him even if it has proven to be ineffective thus far.

The most recent endorsement comes from New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez. If you haven’t heard of her, it’s not because she isn’t trying to make a splash. She simply hasn’t yet. By attaching to Rubio, she hopes that she will get some headlines and draw some attention from the Establishment, but that will only work if they’re able to get more than the single win they have under their belt in the Presidential race.

If Rubio’s campaign is going to have a chance, they’ll need to win Florida. To win Florida, they need momentum this weekend by doing well (at least second place) in two or three of the “Super Saturday” contests. At this point, it looks very doubtful that he will.
