Ted Cruz points finger at UN for anti-Israel bias

The United Nations has been steering as far away from supporting Israel politics as possible for over a decade now. With the United States and President Barack Obama joining in on the push, GOP candidate Ted Cruz is positioning himself on the opposite side of the coin by sending a convicting letter to the United Nations about their policies.

He believes that the United Nations is ludicrous for wanting to classify Israel in the same category as ISIS and North Korea. In his letter, he countered the attempts by Human Rights Watch to petition UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to include the Jewish state on a list of human rights violators that target children.

After discussing what the list means and why Israel’s actions in last year’s Gaza conflict are not in the same ballpark as those perpetrated by organizations and nations listed, he ended the letter with a stern threat:

“Mr. Secretary-General, under no circumstances should Israel be added to your list. As the largest contributor to the United Nations, Congress will have no choice but to reassess the United States’ relationship with the United Nations and consider serious consequences should you choose to take this action.”
